As this year’s Christmas installations come to a close, it’s time to reflect on the amazing brands I have had the opportunity this year to work with. 

I wanted to thank you all my retail customers who have asked me to support them over this year with their window dressing and visual merchandising. 

Last week I was so excited to be working with the fabulous British fashion brand, Rixo. A brand which is a personal favourite of mine !

Installing their Christmas windows across all of their London stores was such a joy to  work on. Stores included, the beautiful flagship store on the Kings Road, Chelsea, Westbourne Park Grove, Marylebone and Carnaby Street.

The Christmas system included hanging stars and moons, in Rixo’s iconic colours of green, pink, purple, gold and silver.

The moons and stars were hung around the mannequins in clusters. Mannequins were styled in Rixo’s new season collections ready for the festive season. 
The windows featured a selection of Rixo branded presents to create height with the accessories.

I absolutely loved working with the teams at SKIMS last month to install their new shop in shop department at Harrods London. The new department which opened over the Summer, offers Harrods customers a range of SKIMS shapewear, loungewear, underwear and everyday basics.

This month’s post is to celebrate two fantastic independent brands who I have had the honour to work with over this month and supporting them with their Visual Merchandising.

Congratulations to my talented friend, Elaine Guo for launching her brilliant Tennis apparel brand Tenez London this month ! Tenez London offers a collection of refined tennis apparel and elegant jewellery to wear both on and off the court! Elaine launched her brand with a brilliant catwalk show event at Harpenden Lawn Tennis Club and the event was captured with the amazing photography by Nicola Calleja Photography.

I loved supporting with Visual Merchandising and showcasing the beautiful range of jewellery, as well as styling the models ready for the catwalk. We took inspiration from the tennis looks on show at this year’s Wimbledon.

Tenez London was also chosen to be the kit sponsor of The Hertfordshire Women’s Team, who this week competed in LTA Summer County Cup in Eastbourne and won their 6th title in a row !

May is the month of RHS Chelsea Flower Show, here in London and its such a privilege to be asked to be a Panel Leader at this iconic Flower Show. Such a fantastic group of people to work with on the trade stand assessors team, I loved working with you all again this year and great to see such a high presentation standard this year across the show. 🤩

Congratulations to James Doran Webb for winning the best trade stand award for your inspiring stand  – your work created the most amazing impact on Main Avenue this year ! 🤩

A well deserved 5 star award to the talented Donnacha Cahill Sculptor who created an eye catching stand which beautifully showcased the inspiring bronze sculptures made in the West of Ireland. 🤩

This month, I loved working with the Retail team at The Paddington Store in London’s Paddington Station, to support them with dressing their windows and in store visual merchandising for their new store opening.

I work with many attraction sites and museums to support their teams with the Visual Merchandising within their gift stores and pop up retail areas. As this is a sector which is becoming very popular for Visual Merchandising, I thought I would write some key points in this months blog article upon the importance of applying VM techniques to this sector.

Museum and attraction gift shops are often destination retail spaces, customers visit them not just to shop, but as part of the cultural experience and to be able to take home part of the experience.

These stores rely on seasonal exhibitions and events, so window and in store displays need to quickly adapt and tell fresh, relevant stories to your customer.

Merchandise often has an educational, cultural, or artistic connection, making storytelling through displays and signage a critical part of their sales strategy.

This month I was excited to be offered a space in the Fashion Cafe at Spring Fair 2025, held at the NEC Birmingham. I was invited to create a Visual Merchandising hub to support visitors and exhibitors with their Visual Merchandising. I enjoyed sharing my Visual Merchandising expertise to support retailers achieve more effective product placement, enhance their instore merchandising and maximise link selling opportunities.  The Visual Merchandising workshops also featured practical tips on mannequin styling and dressing. For my first post of 2025, I wanted to start by introducing Rifai’s new Knightsbridge store in London which opened late last year. The iconic Lebanese brand who are renowned for their gourmet roasted nuts, luxurious confectionery and coffee has launched here in the UK !

It was a pleasure to work with Rifai’s retail team to work with them on installing their Windows and Visual Merchandising within their new store.

I cannot quite believe this is my final blog post for 2024 – how quickly has this year gone by !  I wanted to wish you all a Very Happy New Year and thank you for your support of my business over the past year, its very much appreciated.

I have really enjoyed creating this year’s Christmas windows and in store displays on the run up to Christmas. My highlights as featured in the images below include ; Installing Christmas at Tower Bridge. The main window display featured Paddington Bear in celebration of the new Paddington movie, the front windows featured Bella, the Tower Bridge Cat. The colour theme of gold and navy featured within the windows and also continued consistently in store.  I love working with my ex colleagues from Selfridges each Christmas, this year working with Karen, Martin and Milly from Freelance Visual Merchandiser. It was fantastic to work with the team to install Christmas throughout the Warner Leisure Hotels across the UK. Then finally, working together to install Christmas across the itv Daytime Shows, GMB, Lorraine, This Morning & Loose Women !

Probably my favourite Visual Merchandising job of the year ! Working with the brilliant Retail Team at The Paddington Bear Store to merchandise their recently launched Paddington In Peru Pop Up Shop on Platform 1 at London’s Paddington Station.
