Christmas Installations at Warner Leisure Hotels

Christmas Installations at Warner Leisure Hotels

Christmas has finally arrived ! This month has been very busy with the start of the Christmas window dressing and in store installation season. I am finding that a lot of retailers and businesses are wanting to create more impact and theatre this year, especially due to the effects of Christmas 2020 !

During November I have worked with some of my ex Selfridges Visual Merchandising colleagues to create Christmas throughout the Warner Leisure Hotels across the UK. It’s been fantastic to work again with the talented Karen Murray & Martin Child (FreelanceVisualMerchandiser.co.uk) and to work on their first hotel project.

It is hard to believe that Autumn is nearly here already ! I wanted to share with you the new season windows we created for one of my Independent clients’s, Elenique Skin Clinic in London. We created new windows and in store displays to celebrate the coming Autumn season yesterday.

Elena wanted to focus upon a new brand she has recently invested in for her business, Byonik – the first ever skin rejuvenation system guided by your pulse ! We also installed branded vinyl on the glass front to showcase the publications who have featured and promoted Elena’s business.

Visual Merchandising Consultancy To Support Local Artisan Businesses at Nene Court

Visual Merchandising Consultancy To Support Local Artisan Businesses at Nene Court

Over the past couple of months I have been working with new client, Nene Court Emporium in Wellingborough, Northants.
Owner, Paul has created a fantastic business of creating a retail emporium selling local artisan gifts and crafts from over 50 local sellers. Paul has seen a huge increase of visitors over the past year, especially due to the increase of appreciation from customers to buy and support local businesses.
I have been working with Paul and his Store Manager to showcase their local artists within their windows and creating linked hot spot areas in store, which will rotate on a monthly basis. Paul has reported an increase of sales for one artist showcased in June’s window by 100% – Which was amazing news and really highlights the importance of the shop window !

Visual Merchandising Consultancy For St Albans Museums & Galleries

Visual Merchandising Consultancy For St Albans Museums & Galleries

It was great to be back working with the retail team at St Albans Museum & Gallery ahead of their reopening this month.

I spent the day helping the team with the re merchandising of their store, implementing the practical Visual Merchandising techniques that I had taught them during a bespoke Visual Merchandising training course towards the end of 2020.

We created a strong hot spot space at the front of the store which featured local merchandise from the St Albans area, which should create a great focus for their customers once they re open. Also, focusing upon creating key sections for Kids, Books and Gifting.

Visual Merchandising Consultancy For Farm-Fetch London

Visual Merchandising Consultancy For Farm-Fetch London

This month I have been working a new retail client, Farm Fetch who have just opened their first concept store on the Kings Road, London. Farm Fetch work with top food artisans and small scale producers to provide the highest quality, wholesome, healthy food that places sustainability, care for the environment and animals at its core.

My Visual Merchandising Consultancy work included re working their windows, creating an eating area within the left side window – this will expand the amount of covers the business can serve with their delicious lunch menu and hopefully encourage more customers to come in and dine. I worked with the team to improve their product merchandising and creating additional link selling opportunities. Created a promotional table within a key focal point area in store, this table will also serve as a tasting space at the weekends.

Great to see all our UK retailers starting to re-open this month !

I was really excited to work with one of my clients, Elena Cudworth who owns her own Independent Skin Clinic, Elenique Aesthetics in Fulham, London. Again, we up cycled her wooden arch used for Elena’s Christmas installation, creating an impactful window installation to celebrate her clinics’s re-opening this month.

First Window Installations For Spring 2021

First Window Installations For Spring 2021

Great to be creating our first window installations for Spring with my friend and colleague, Frankie Rossetti for our client estate agents,  Nash Partnership.
We upcycled the wooden arches which were used at Christmas and redressed these with uplifting Spring floral textures. These arches were installed in both their Berkhamsted and Tring offices in Hertfordshire.

Visual Merchandising Spring 2021 Planning

Visual Merchandising Spring 2021 Planning

t’s great news to hear that my client’s now have a date for when they can reopen following on from our current third lockdown in the UK.
This month I have been working on new Spring window designs for forthcoming window installations in March. In preparation for these projects I have been catching up on new season and consumer trends which I feel will have such a great impact on what we will install from a VM perspective.
I feel that using colours within Visual Merchandising and Window Displays which can help soothe anxiety and influence our mental wellbeing will be key post Covid-19.Consider using colours which promote calm, peace, strength and joy as well as those which are linked to nature and our natural world. Using soft pastel colour shades like ; Pale Pink, Sky Blue, Pistachio Green and Lavender all display these mood educing qualities which will really engage the customer.

I am working with these colour ideas to create more mindful Spring displays with lots of natural textures, which I hope to share with you via my blog next month…..

Visual Merchandising Planogram Creation

Visual Merchandising Planogram Creation

Welcome to our first blog post of 2021 !

We have started the new year working with a new independent giftware retailer based in the UK,  its great to be working with a fair trade business with an emphasis very much on design and quality.

We created a series of visual planograms which give our client a clear direction on how to merchandise their product ranges when exhibiting at trade events. Our planograms, created by photoshop give a clear merchandising plan which can be implemented by any member of staff quickly and efficiently.

I designed these planograms following the key Visual Merchandising principles of symmetrical product placement and focus on creating effective focal point height. These plans also ensure that the full range of merchandise can be displayed to help the business showcase their full catalogue range to their customers, as well as creating a strong, consistent brand image/ look.
