This final post of the December is a wrap up of all the wonderful Christmas projects and installations I have worked on during this festive season. 

I loved designing, creating and installing the ” Apres Ski ” themed window for a local business near to us in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. The Holiday windows for Skye Optometrists showcased their range of Bolle Eyewear, snow goggles. Graphic design work carried out by Paul Manning and printed by Dan at The Creative Key.

Christmas season is now in full swing !

What an amazing few weeks working with the team at Freelance Visual Merchandiser and the fantastic, DZD to install the beautiful Christmas decorations within the coastal and country Warner Leisure Hotels across the UK.

The decorations drew inspiration from the hotel’s geographical locations. The coastal hotels featured soft blues, turquoise and white, with country hotels focusing upon the natural, rich colours of the British countryside.

September marks the launch of Autumn and this month has been a busy one with new season window displays and visual merchandising being installed in our retail clients.

Taking inspiration from the beautiful shades of nature this season, I created Autumn themed displays with the windows and in store areas within The Tower Bridge Gift Shop. Using brown paper boxes, natural ribbon and artificial autumn leaves and garlands these textures created eye catching displays within the store.

The Summer holiday’s see’s the launch of the African Market at  Longleat Safari Park. I have been creating this fair trade market over the past eight years in collaboration with Longleat’s Retail team. Its a great project to put into place effective Visual Merchandising and Customer Flow principles. The market’s position within the heart of the Safari park makes this retail space a very popular place to visit and shop over the Summer months.

This month I have been working with the fantastic, HTA Learning & Development team to create a Visual Merchandising Pop Up installation at this years National Plant Show.

So very proud of our Pop Up installation, I designed this installation titled “ Tunnel Vision “ in collaboration with my fantastic Learning & Development colleagues Alexandra Jenkins and Holly Parker.

The concept has been designed around goals in the HTA’s sustainability road map with each of the arches representing different themes, including; Water, Carbon,Plastic Waste, Peat and Chems & Ferts. 

This month it has all been about working with the RHS Team at Chelsea Flower Show assessing the inspiring trade stands at this years show.

Lots of beautiful and inspiring gardens, many exhibits celebrating the Queens Platinum Jubilee. Here are some photos of my favourite gardens, I particularly liked the Studio 54 inspired Planet Studio concept – a great example of effective Plant Visual Merchandising! The bright, vibrant and sustainable garden created for homelessness charity, St. Mungo’s was a joy to see. As well as the Veevers Carter beautiful floral installation in tribute to her Majesty The Queen.

The month of March has been busy for us here at VMC helping our retail clients getting ready for the Spring season.

It was great to join the Retail team at Longleat to work with them at their store in Cheddar Gorge, Somerset prepare for their re-opening on 1st April, after being closed since March 2020 ! I worked with the team to design and create the new store layout and product locations. We then worked over 5 days to merchandise all the new stock, getting the store ready for the reopening. 

Welcome to my first blog post of 2022 !

For my first blog post of the year I wanted to share with you a beautiful installation I designed and installed for one of my fantastic clients, Elena Cudworth. Elena is the owner of Elenique Skin Clinic in Fulham, London.

For Elena’s Christmas window display we reused the wooden frame from last year’s install. The arch was dressed with green garlands, pine cones, pampas and glitter baubles in blush pink and caramel to create a new look for Christmas 2021.

For my final post of 2021, I wanted to share with you probably my favourite Visual Merchandising job this Christmas was working with Freelance Visual Merchandiser & Team creating Christmas magic at ITV Studios for their daytime shows, GMB, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women
Loved working with such a fabulous team , Karen Murray, Martin Child, Milly Talbot Dunn, Frankie O’Brien, Tina Chignoli and Jan Clarke.

Christmas has finally arrived ! This month has been very busy with the start of the Christmas window dressing and in store installation season. I am finding that a lot of retailers and businesses are wanting to create more impact and theatre this year, especially due to the effects of Christmas 2020 !

During November I have worked with some of my ex Selfridges Visual Merchandising colleagues to create Christmas throughout the Warner Leisure Hotels across the UK. It’s been fantastic to work again with the talented Karen Murray & Martin Child (FreelanceVisualMerchandiser.co.uk) and to work on their first hotel project.
